Important Notices to Clubs and Members

From 2024 The Executive will post on this page any Notices to Clubs and Members.       It is in the interest of all NZGTA members to be aware of these Notices.
Dear Secretaries,
The working group is grateful to everyone who submitted feedback in the initial feedback round.  Please find attached for distribution to your members:
  • A memorandum providing commentary on the feedback received to date, together with the membership data referred to.
  • A spreadsheet setting out the feedback received in the first round.
  • This next feedback round will run from 20 March 2025 to 16 April 2025. The working group encourages clubs and members to give feedback on the form of constitution that they think will best position the NZGTA, and its clubs, to thrive and grow for the long-term benefit of current and future members.

As noted in the memorandum, the working group would like to hold meetings to better understand the aspirations and concerns that members have in that regard.  We are considering how it might be possible to hold meetings on a regional basis that include an in-person element, while still making it possible for as many who would like to attend a meeting to do so.  We will be in touch shortly about that.
Feedback can be submitted by email to [email protected] with “Follow-up Engagement Round: Feedback on draft NZGTA constitution” in the subject line.

Regards
Sue

2025
Dear Secretaries,
As foreshadowed in the December 2024 Executive Update, a working group was established to help us adopt a new constitution that complies with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 so that we can continue as an incorporated society.
Although we are up against significant time constraints, the Executive is keen that members have time to consider and give feedback on the new constitution and has tasked the working group with leading that consultation process.   Accordingly, attached to this email is:
  • An outline of the requirements for the new constitution and the consultation process, and a request for feedback.
  • A consultation draft constitution; and
  • A table explaining proposed changes from the current constitution.
As you will see from the overview document, the working group intends to hold a virtual meeting(s) to give people the opportunity to ask questions and will advise the date shortly.
In the meantime, please circulate the attached material to your members.
Regards
Sue
NZGTA Secretary
